Spring Pre-Approval: Getting Your Family Ready for a Summer Move

Jeremy Boillot3 min read

How to time a move around the Arizona school calendar, work schedules and the housing market.

Many Arizona school districts start back in late July or early August, so families who want to move before the school year need to start earlier than they might expect. Here's a sample timeline.

  • March–April: Get pre-approved and explore neighborhoods and school boundaries.
  • April–May: Make offers and open escrow on the right home.
  • May–June: Inspection, appraisal and underwriting, then closing.
  • June–July: Move in, settle in and enroll the kids before school starts.

The key is starting financing early. When you find the right home, you want your pre-approval already in hand, not still in progress.
